Bone & Joint Care Center Announces Transition to Berks Ortho

At Bone & Joint Care Center, we have always been grateful for the trust our patients place in us. As we continue our commitment to providing exceptional orthopedic care throughout Berks County, we would like to share an important update regarding our practice.

Effective June 1, 2025, Dr. Stephen Longenecker, Dr. Kenneth McAlpine, Dr. Christopher Schumacher, and their provider team will begin practicing independently as Berks Ortho. While this transition marks the beginning of a new chapter, our commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered orthopedic care remains unchanged.

Patients who wish to continue their care with our providers will be able to do so at our new state-of-the-art office located at 301 S. Seventh Street, Suite 3220, in West Reading. Conveniently located within the same building as our previous office, the new location will allow us to continue serving patients with the same dedication and expertise they have come to expect.

Our goal throughout this transition is to make the process as seamless as possible. Existing patients will receive assistance with scheduling and continuity of care, and medical records will be securely transferred in accordance with healthcare privacy regulations. Our team remains available to answer questions and provide support every step of the way.

We are excited for the future of Berks Ortho and the opportunity to continue caring for our community. Most importantly, we want to thank our patients for their loyalty, trust, and confidence over the years.
